David Potts focuses his practice on employment law, general civil litigation, commercial and business litigation, and wrongful death and personal injury defense. He represents public and private employers and non-profit organizations on a broad range of employment issues, including Earned Paid Sick Time claims and employee leave rights. David has also defended employers on discrimination claims before the EEOC and claims filed in state and federal court. Prior to joining JSH, David led a team of law students who worked on pro bono appellate cases as part of the University of Arizona's Pro Bono Appellate Clinic, helping draft appellate briefs in three cases and arguing before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also interned as a Rule 38(d) student at the Tucson City Prosecutor's Office, where he first-chaired numerous jury trials, bench trials and evidentiary hearings. A true native, David was born and raised in Arizona. When not in the office, David enjoys spending time with his wife and his dog, playing basketball and rooting for his University of Arizona Wildcats.
