James M. Girman

James Girman is a founding shareholder of Pion, Nerone, Girman, Winslow & Smith. He concentrates his practice in civil litigation defense with emphasis on transportation litigation and retail and restaurant industry litigation. He has litigated cases in state and federal court representing individuals and businesses in cases involving commercial motor vehicles, premises liability, wrongful death, product liability, personal injury and breach of contract. Jim is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, DRI and the American Bar Association. He graduated from Grove City College with a B.S. in Political Science and earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Duquesne University School of Law and began his law career in 1990. Prior to beginning his law career, Jim worked as a Detective with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office.
