Max Davis is the senior member of Davis, Hatley, Haffeman, & Tighe, PC., with offices in the historic Milwaukee Station Building alongside the Missouri River in Great Falls, Montana. Max focuses his practice on a wide spectrum of civil litigation, primarily for defendants, including professional and products liability defense, commercial disputes, employment claims, environmental and toxic torts, as well as the defense of insureds, self-insureds and insurers. A major portion of his product liability practice focuses on the defense of medical device manufacturers. Max also serves as the State of Montana's primary outside counsel in the defense of tort claims filed in central Montana. He has tried over 90 cases to verdict in federal and state courts throughout Montana and has argued appeals before the Montana Supreme Court, the Blackfeet Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He is also named as recommended in Chambers USA, as a Local Litigation Star in Benchmark Litigation and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for over 20 years and in Rocky Mountain Super Lawyers every year of its publication. In 2006, he served as a faculty member at the IADC's Trial Academy at Stanford University. Max also serves as counsel to the Diocese of Great Falls, the Montana Electric Cooperatives Association and numerous electric cooperatives throughout the state. He is an invited member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and of the International Society of Barristers, on whose Board of Governors he served for six years.
