USLAW creates USLAW LeadX to cultivate the next generation of leaders

USLAW NETWORK is proud to announce the launch of USLAW LeadX: Pathway to Success (USLAW LeadX), a transformative leadership development program designed to prepare the next generation of leaders within USLAW NETWORK and its member firms. USLAW LeadX establishes a clearly defined, five-year pathway that combines leadership training, business development, client engagement and NETWORK-wide relationship-building to ensure strong leadership succession and long-term organizational vitality.

“USLAW LeadX: Pathway to Success represents an exciting new chapter for USLAW,” said Roger Yaffe, CEO of USLAW NETWORK. “By investing in structured leadership development, we are not only strengthening our member firms and client service but also ensuring that USLAW continues to thrive as a collaborative, forward-thinking NETWORK for decades to come.”

A strategic response to emerging needs

USLAW LeadX builds on the foundation of the Future USLAW Leaders program, introduced in 2017. By introducing formal cohorts, clear selection criteria, and defined program lifecycles, USLAW LeadX sets a standard for professional growth and provides a roadmap for attorneys who are ready to take on greater leadership roles within their firms and the NETWORK.

Eligibility

Each participating firm may nominate up to four attorneys with a minimum of five years of legal experience who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to client service. The program is open to both associates and partners, with no annual fee for participation.

Program highlights

USLAW LeadX will operate in five-year cycles, with participants progressing through a series of structured initiatives designed to develop their skills, increase visibility, and boost influence. Key elements include:

  • Leadership Development – Workshops, shadowing opportunities, speaking and writing roles, and observation of USLAW leadership to prepare participants for future governance.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement – Training bootcamps, client roundtables and opportunities to directly engage with clients and industry issues.
  • Networking & Relationship Building – Bi-annual USLAW LeadX Summits and tailored networking opportunities at USLAW events.
  • Mentorship & Alumni Engagement – Pairing USLAW LeadX participants with alumni of the Future USLAW Leaders group, as well as creating an advisory role for alumni to support ongoing program success.

Long-term impact

The first USLAW LeadX cohort will be selected in late 2025 and formally launched in January 2026. Over the five-year arc, participants will grow from building foundational trust and visibility (Year 1), to collaboration and contribution (Year 2), integration and client influence (Year 3), leadership visibility and legacy (Year 4), and finally graduation and transition to alumni leadership roles (Year 5). Firms will also have the flexibility to have attorneys join in the middle of the cohort. Graduates will join the USLAW LeadX Alumni Society, continuing to serve as mentors, advisors, and thought leaders within USLAW.

Benefits for all stakeholders

  • For Participants: Structured growth, increased visibility, and access to meaningful leadership opportunities.
  • For Firms: Stronger succession planning, attorney retention and business development support.
  • For Clients: Greater access to emerging leaders, continuity in relationships and enhanced service delivery.
  • For USLAW NETWORK: A revitalized leadership pipeline, stronger engagement across the NETWORK and sustained growth.
