Christopher J. O’Connell

Christopher J. O’Connell, a shareholder at Sweeney & Sheehan serves on the Firm's Executive Committee. A veteran litigator with more than 25 years of experience, Chris has dedicated his career in the areas of complex civil litigation; governmental and charitable immunity matters; trial consulting; premises liability; insurance coverage; and defense of contractors in commercial and residential construction defect cases.

In January of 2020, Chris was honored to become an elected member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation only society of the nation’s very best trial attorneys.

Chris was born in Bloomfield, NJ attended Seton Hall Prep, Fairfield University, and then Seton Hall School of Law. Chris is a proud member of both Fairfield University and Seton Hall Preparatory School’s Athletic Halls of Fame for excellence in swimming. While in law school, Chris was the assistant coach to Seton Hall University’s Division I Men’s and Women’s swimming teams.
