Mert Howard chairs the Product Liability and Complex Tort Litigation practice at Hanson Bridgett LLP in San Francisco. Mert handles product liability and tort cases, as well as class actions and commercial disputes. Mert utilizes legal project management and strategic planning skills to focus on creative and cost-effective ways to resolve conflicts through alternative dispute resolution, trials, and appeal. In the product liability area, his cases have involved mass torts and toxic exposures, children's products, biologics, chemicals, computers, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and related services, sports equipment, consumer goods, aviation equipment, vehicles, industrial machinery, and asbestos. He also represents clients in matters concerning California's Proposition 65, contractual interpretation, unfair competition, warranty, indemnity, and premises liability. Additionally, Mert assists companies with regulatory compliance, product labeling, and crisis management.
