Doug Clarke named 2025 O’Hagan-Carr Award recipient

POSTED SEPTEMBER 26, 2025

Douglas W. Clarke of Therrien Couture Joli-Coeur LLP in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, (pictured, center)  is the recipient of the 2025 O’Hagan-Carr Award. The award is named after Jim O’Hagan and Charles Carr (pictured, right), co-founding members of USLAW NETWORK, and is given annually by the USLAW Chair to a USLAW member(s) who demonstrates outstanding service and commitment to the organization’s guiding principles, mission, and objectives.

Carr, from Carr Allison in Alabama, traveled to Colorado to present the award to Clarke at the recent USLAW member business meeting during the USLAW NETWORK Annual Client Conference.

“Recipients of this award over the years have helped make USLAW better,” shared Carr during the event. “They are all so enthusiastic about USLAW, they all have various gifts to contribute, they are marketers, produce business for their firms, and each is a good person and respected throughout the NETWORK. We are excited to give this year’s award to Doug (Clarke), who meets all those qualifications and then some. Over the years, Doug has made significant contributions to strengthening this organization, and his enthusiasm for USLAW has made USLAW even better. We are proud to recognize him with the 2025 O’Hagan-Carr Award.

“This is a great honor to receive this award,” said Clarke. “I’ve tried in my own small way to expand the vision of this organization and the potential that it has to help clients expand their business outside of North America, and I am happy to continue to contribute. I am humbled by this award.”

Immediate Past Chair Kenneth B. Wingate of Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A., in South Carolina, also shared comments during the presentation.

“Doug (Clarke) embodies what it means to be a member of USLAW,” said Wingate. “Doug embraces USLAW’s core beliefs of exceptional client service, strong working relationships across the NETWORK and collegiality among our membership. He tirelessly promotes USLAW to his colleagues within his firm as well as his broad client base, collaborates with USLAW members on a range of legal matters, and has served in several leadership roles, including his current position on the USLAW Executive Committee, which is part of the USLAW Board of Directors. We are proud to recognize Doug (Clarke) with the 2025 O’Hagan-Carr Award.”

Clarke has been a member of the USLAW NETWORK Board of Directors since 2018.
