David C. Linder
Suite 2800
St. Paul MN 55101
United States
For over two decades, David’s practice has focused on the representation of both policyholders and insurance companies, domestic and foreign alike, in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings. The emphasis of his work has been on cases involving professional liability exposures, asbestos and environmental losses, construction defects, finite reinsurance products, claims of insurance accounting fraud, and the international reinsurance market. He has managed liability and property insurance litigation across the U.S and has tried coverage cases and argued appeals in numerous state and federal courts. He likewise has substantial experience handling the arbitration of reinsurance disputes arising from general liability exposures, workers compensation and medical stop loss risks, and London market personal accident business. Drawing on this background, he also has had significant involvement in resolving claims prior to litigation as well as drafting and negotiating insurance contract terms. David is a frequent speaker, having recently addressed topics including trigger and allocation issues under liability insurance policies, coverage questions raised by construction defect claims, and cyber liability risks. In addition, among other publications, he is the author of the “Remedies and Loss of Remedies in Reinsurance Disputes” chapter in DRI/Thomson Reuters’s “Reinsurance Professional’s Deskbook.” David received both his B.A., summa cum laude, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.
