Robert C. “Bob” Richardson is a shareholder with the law firm of Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush, P.A., where he is chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Law section. Bob’s practice also includes general business and corporate matters, banking, general litigation, insurance company insolvency, and medical cannabis law. Bob has over 35 years of experience defending private and public sector employers in workplace-related litigation in federal and state courts and against charges before government agencies such as the EEOC, OSHA, MSHA, NLRB, and Wage & Hour. He has successfully conducted appeals before the federal Fifth and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeals and before the Mississippi Supreme Court. Bob also represents employers in union-related matters, including contract negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, and representation elections. He has also served as a labor arbitrator. In addition to litigation defense, Bob assists private and public employers on an ongoing basis in complying with the myriad employment- and safety-related laws affecting the workplace. He is available to clients on a daily, as-needed basis for professional consultation and guidance. He also assists employers with a variety of personnel matters such as drafting policies and procedures, providing supervisor and employee training, and preparing employee handbooks. In addition, he works with employers to develop proactive measures and strategies to improve employee relations and performance and ensure legal compliance.
