Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston, P.C. was endowed by its founder, Judge John D. Martin, Sr., over 100 years ago, with a solid tradition of service to clients, the profession and to the Memphis Community.

The firm’s areas of significant practice are business and commercial transactions; litigation in state and federal courts; trusts and estates; and commercial real estate. Within the business and commercial transaction area, the firm’s attorneys counsel clients in merger and acquisitions, banking, IPO’s, partnership matters,PILOT transactions, bankruptcy reorganizations and creditor’s rights

Many of the firm’s lawyers are listed in “Best Lawyers in America.” The National Board of Trial Advocacy has certified two of the firm’s trial lawyers as Civil Trial Specialists, while two are members of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Litigation section members regularly deal with matters involving contracts, transportation law, insurance, products liability, and employment rights just to name a few. Martin Tate’s trusts and estates section has one lawyer as a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Attorneys in the real estate section are involved in transactions in the Mid-South including construction, development, leasing and operation of shopping centers, office buildings, industrial plants, and warehouse distribution centers. The firm is involved in financing techniques for real estate syndications, issuance of tax-exempt bonds, and equity participations. One of the firm’s attorneys is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
